Daniel Herskedal Trio

Daniel Herskedal is a musician and composer of extraordinary ability, pushing the boundaries of his instrument as far as he can. His music flows with absolute grace and poise, perfectly blending the spirit of jazz with the compositional craft of classical music. Rarely do you hear a musician with such depth, emotional intensity and virtuosity. Daniel Herskedal’s new album, ‘Harbour’ (Edition Records), was recently nominated for a Spellemannprisen (Norwegian Grammy) and brings together long-time collaborators pianist Eyolf Dale and percussionist Andreas Helge Norbakken. Daniel Herskedal Trio is becoming a stronger band with each release. Their unique sound and musical depth is overwhelming, resulting in stunning creations.

Rebekka Bakken Band

Rebekka Bakken Band promises us a sensational concert! Rebekka Bakken is an impressive singer! It’s hard to attach her music to a category: jazz, Americana, folk, soul or blues. But it’s easy to forget her after hearing her for the first time. They say she leaves you speechless! The Norwegian musician’s songs are overwhelming, lyrical, performed with high vocal qualities, her voice can cover 3 octaves. Love, longing, separation and estrangement are the themes of her music, and her deep, instinctive, open interpretation touches the heart of the audience. Rebekka Bakken has 11 solo albums in her discography and numerous collaborations, with Wolfgang Muthspiel, Julia Hülsmann, Dhafer Youssef, Wolfgang Haffner, Christof Lauer.

Sinikka Langeland – Wind and Sun

Sinikka Langeland is one of the North’s most precious voices. At the Gărâna Jazz Festival 2023, she will present her latest project – Wind and Sun, inspired by the musicality of Jon Fosse’s poems and based on traditional Finnskogen music. The musician wants to bring the timeless aspect of Fosse’s poems to the present through artists using modern ways of expression. Kantelele sounds almost like an orchestra in itself, and the members of the group are exceptional: Kristina Fransson, Bendik Hofseth, Jo Skaansar, Markku Ounaskari. The musicians take the compositions to new heights with their masterful improvisations and interpretations, inviting a journey into the timeless landscape imagined by Jon Fosse.

The Side Effects – Stian Carstensen, Marius Neset, Thomas Strønen

When Stian Carstensen, Marius Neset and Thomas Strønen play together, like in The Side Effects, you know the evening is going to be a blast! The fantastic musicianship of Norway’s three top musicians has left audiences ecstatic since their first appearance on stage. The trio’s musical material is inspired by Balkan folk music and Western cult music. In concerts they support each other, complement each other and venture into new explorations with fascinating creativity.
