Gărâna Jazz Festival – 27th edition – new musicians in the line-up

The XXVII edition of the Gărâna Jazz Festival is just one month away and we are happy to announce that the line-up is enriched with four bands.

In Wolf’s Meadow, Austrian trombonist Paul Zauner will play on Thursday 6 July in a quartet with American pianist Carlton Holmes, Austrian bassist Wolfram Derschmidt and drummer Dusan Navokov from Serbia. Since the mid-1980s, Paul Zauner has played with international jazz greats such as Leon Thomas, George Adams, David Murray, Gregory Porter, Donald Smith, Mansur Scott and has produced some remarkable recordings.

On Saturday 8 July, Dean Bowman, the charismatic singer who has made his mark in jazz, rock, gospel and soul, will perform with Serbian pianist Vasil Hadžimanov and Americans Nimrod Speaks – bass and Ronnie Burrage – drums. His expressive voice, acquired through mastering and combining many vocal techniques and styles, has earned Dean Bowman countless collaborations with internationally renowned musicians: Don Byron, John Scofield, Reggie Workman, Charlie Hunter, Bernie Worell, Steve Coleman, MeShell Ndegeoshello and many others.
